Rwanda’s Expo 2025 Draws Exhibitors from 30 Countries, Thousands Expected Daily

Organizers of Expo 2025, Rwanda’s largest international trade fair, have confirmed that all 480 exhibition stands have been fully booked ahead of the event’s official opening on July 29.

The Private Sector Federation (PSF), which coordinates the annual event, says the upcoming 28th edition will feature over 450 exhibitors from 30 countries, including 136 foreign businesses, making it one of the most anticipated expos in the region.

“This year’s expo has attracted overwhelming interest. All stands are fully booked, including those allocated to international exhibitors and both large and small Rwandan businesses,” said PSF spokesperson Hunde Walter.

Set to run through August 17, Expo 2025 is expected to attract more than 25,000 visitors daily. The event will take place at the Gikondo Expo Grounds in Kigali and will showcase a wide array of products and services across various industries.

Diverse Sectors, Big Opportunities

Participating companies represent sectors such as telecommunications, information technology, agriculture, construction, banking, mining, energy, textiles, tourism, arts and crafts, food and beverages, and public service delivery.

The Rwanda Development Board (RDB) and the Ministry of Trade and Industry have each sponsored 50 local small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to exhibit their goods and services. Youth-led businesses, supported by the National Youth Council, have also been given a platform to display their innovations.

Hunde noted that Expo 2025 offers entrepreneurs an exceptional opportunity to learn, connect with partners, and expand their customer base.

“It’s not just about sales,” he said. “First-time exhibitors often walk away with new ideas and better market insights. It’s also a chance to introduce your brand to thousands of potential customers.”

Strong Turnout Expected

According to PSF, daily attendance typically ranges from 8,000 to 10,000 people during weekdays, rising to as many as 40,000 visitors on peak weekends.

“With that level of turnout, one exhibitor can receive up to 3,000 visitors per day,” Hunde said. “It’s a rare opportunity to meet customers you may never reach from your regular business location.”

New Features in 2025 Edition

For the first time, the expo will host on-site land title services, allowing citizens to access key land documentation services directly at the venue.

To improve access and efficiency, entry to the event will cost Rwf 1,000, payable through digital platforms and mobile money services.

Exhibition hours will run from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on weekdays, and from 9:00 a.m. to midnight on weekends and public holidays.

Call for Preparation and Innovation

Hunde urged all exhibitors, especially local businesses, to come prepared with high-quality products and clear communication about their offerings.

“To every Rwandan exhibitor—come ready, come organized, and come with something innovative,” he said. “A good product speaks for itself and sells itself.”

He also encouraged the general public to attend in large numbers, emphasizing that the expo is not only a shopping opportunity but also a space to learn and connect with local and international markets.
