On the evening of February 6, 2025, President Paul Kagame met with Morocco’s Foreign Minister, Nasser Bourita, at Village Urugwiro. The two leaders discussed ways to boost cooperation between their countries. Minister Bourita also delivered a message from King Mohammed VI of Morocco.

The discussions aimed to enhance collaboration in different areas,” the statement said.
Rwanda and Morocco have enjoyed a strong partnership for years, with both countries signing multiple agreements. In 2016, King Mohammed VI visited Rwanda, where they signed 19 agreements in areas like banking, diplomatic relations, and trade.
In 2019, both countries signed 12 more agreements in Rabat to further deepen their ties. Today, Morocco is one of the top countries offering scholarships to African students, including Rwandans.
In 2020, Rwanda’s then-Foreign Minister, Dr. Vincent Biruta, signed agreements with Morocco to strengthen government cooperation and promote sports in Africa.

This growing partnership shows both nations’ commitment to working together for a better future and advancing Africa’s development.
