Rwanda to Host Basketball Without Borders Camp for First Time

The International Basketball Federation (FIBA), in partnership with the U.S. National Basketball Association (NBA), has announced that the Basketball Without Borders camp will be held in Rwanda for the first time.

The 21st edition of the camp is scheduled for Aug. 23–26, 2025, at Kigali’s Petit Stade, the NBA said.

NBA Africa CEO Clare Akamanzi said the initiative continues to provide opportunities for young talent across the continent.

“We are excited to bring Basketball Without Borders to East Africa, where the game is growing at an incredible pace,” she said.

The camp will feature competitions and skill-building sessions, bringing together 60 boys and girls aged 18 and under from various African countries.

It marks the first time the program will be hosted in an East African nation. Previous African editions have been held in Angola, Egypt, Senegal and South Africa.

In 2023, when the camp took place in South Africa, Rwandan player Jane Dusabe was named the most improved player among the 40 female participants.
