Rwanda Sends Over 40 Tons of Additional Aid to Gaza

The Government of Rwanda has dispatched more than 40 tons of humanitarian aid to Gaza this week, the latest in a series of shipments aimed at supporting civilians affected by the ongoing conflict in the Palestinian territory.

The aid, which includes food and medical supplies, was delivered to the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization for distribution in Gaza.

This is Rwanda’s fourth humanitarian shipment to Gaza since the conflict escalated in October 2023. The country previously sent 16 tons of aid in October 2023, 19 tons in November 2024, and 20 tons in May 2025.

Officials said the assistance is part of Rwanda’s commitment to global humanitarian efforts.

Israel began a large-scale military offensive in Gaza on Oct. 7, 2023, targeting Hamas, the armed group that controls the enclave. The operation followed a surprise Hamas attack in southern Israel that killed about 1,200 people and led to the abduction of more than 250 others.

According to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), nearly 1.9 million people — roughly 90% of Gaza’s population — have been displaced since the fighting began.

The Health Ministry in Gaza reports that between Oct. 7, 2023, and July 2, 2025, at least 57,012 Palestinians have been killed and 134,592 injured.
