Rwanda is among several African nations participating in the Fourth China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo, currently underway in Shangsha International Exhibition Center, Hunan Province, China.

The three-day event, which began this week, brings together countries such as Rwanda, Uganda, South Africa, Kenya, and others to promote trade and investment partnerships with China.
Since its launch in 2019, the expo has yielded tangible results. So far, 336 project agreements have been signed between African nations and China, generating more than $53.3 billion in investment, according to organizers.
The expo features exhibitors from sectors such as technology, manufacturing, food and beverage, among others.
Rwanda is showcasing tourism services and agricultural products, including coffee, chili peppers, and fruits, aiming to attract investors and promote the country’s export potential.

Opening the event, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said the expo was launched at the initiative of President Xi Jinping as a platform to deepen cooperation between China and Africa through trade and investment.
Wang emphasized China’s commitment to strengthening its friendship with Africa, noting that both sides share a vision for a common future based on mutual development and prosperity.
Uganda’s Prime Minister, Robinah Nabbanja, echoed the expo’s theme by stating that Africa and China share the belief that achieving advanced technological development requires joint innovation, climate resilience, and sustainable industrial growth that leaves no one behind.

Rwanda’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Olivier Nduhungirehe, also visited the Rwandan exhibitors. He toured Rwanda’s booth showcasing locally made products, tourism attractions, and agri-food exports, highlighting the country’s investment opportunities.
