The Campus EDU, a leading education consultancy in Rwanda, has launched an exciting new initiative aimed at supporting and empowering students across the country. The Campus Quiz is designed to enhance students’ academic skills, encourage critical thinking, and promote teamwork, all while giving them a fun, competitive outlet.
On March 29, 2025, the first-ever The Campus Quiz was officially launched at Rwamagana Leaders School in the Rwamagana District. The event served as a pilot, offering a glimpse into what is set to become a nationwide academic competition. A total of 62 students participated in the quiz, which marked the beginning of an exciting journey for schools across the country.
The Campus Quiz isn’t just about answering questions—it’s about developing essential life skills. The competition is designed to help students stay informed, think creatively, and manage their time efficiently. Participants are given a guidebook with 1,000 questions to study for one hour before competing.
The quiz consists of two main phases. In the first phase, teams of three students answer 20 questions on computers. The top teams then move on to a second phase, where they are asked more challenging questions by a panel. The team that performs best in both rounds wins and advances to the next level.
“The quiz is all about more than just knowledge—it’s about encouraging students to think critically, collaborate, and build confidence,” said Mutesi Gillian, The Campus Quiz project Lead.
The Campus Quiz visit to Rwamagana Leaders’ School was an exciting and engaging experience for students. Something that particularly impressed us was how the Campus team kept students stimulated through games and fun prompts during transitions between and within sessions. “We are very grateful for the competitive spirit we witnessed among students and hope to welcome The Campus EDU again,” said Rukundo Pacificque, Campus Monitor at Rwamagana Leaders’ School.
What began as a test event at Rwamagana Leaders School is just the beginning. The Campus EDU plans to expand the quiz competition across Rwanda, starting in April 2025. Schools will soon be able to register, and each institution will hold its own internal competition to select a team of three students. These teams will then compete at the district level, with district champions advancing to the national finals.
The grand finale is expected to take place in the first week of June 2025, and as the competition grows, the stakes will become higher. The national finals will bring together the brightest students from across Rwanda to compete for top honors.
A Call for Support and Collaboration
The Campus EDU is inviting educational institutions, universities, and other partners to get involved in The Campus Quiz. The initiative is open to anyone who wants to support students’ academic development and provide growth opportunities.
“As we expand this initiative, we welcome any partner who is willing to be part of this exciting journey. The goal is to create a platform where students can thrive, learn, and prepare for the challenges ahead,” Gillian added.
Empowering the Next Generation
The Campus Quiz is more than just a competition; it is an investment in the future of Rwanda’s students. By participating, students will not only enhance their academic knowledge but also develop key skills such as teamwork, research, and problem-solving—skills that are essential for success in both education and the workforce.
With the quiz set to reach schools across the country in the coming months, The Campus EDU promises to inspire the next generation of learners and thinkers. It is a step toward making education more dynamic and accessible, while providing students with the tools they need to succeed.
